By Mexican foundation Ensamble Artesano, crafted by artisan women in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca and designed in collaboration with Mexican design brand Onora.
Weto decorative bowls honor the tradition of clay molcajetes. Its interior rough finish helped to grind different ingredients in food preparation. The Zapotec word Weto means to grind. The color of barro negro black clay is due to the specific properties of the clay from this region and the firing process.
ONORA is the result of valuable collaborations with artisans and collectives from all over Mexico. We learn together through dialogue and experimentation. Our relationships are strengthened based on mutual respect, fair wages, gender equality and responsible management of natural resources.
